Our Mission
CanJam News was founded to connect the Canadian Jamaican community and cover the stories that matter — from Parliament Hill to Kingston, from Ottawa to the world. We believe Canadians of Caribbean heritage deserve journalism that reflects their lives, their politics, and their place in this country.
We cover federal and provincial politics, business, culture, sports, and the local stories that national outlets too often overlook. We go where the story leads. We name names. We correct our mistakes. We protect our sources.
This is not a hobby. It is not a side project. It is a full-time commitment to the craft of journalism at a moment when that craft is under pressure from every direction — from the economics of digital media, from the rise of misinformation, and from a political culture that has learned to treat the press as an enemy rather than a check.
CanJam News exists because the Canadian Jamaican community — and the world — deserves better. We intend to deliver it.
